There is nothing more precious than our children. Naturally, we want to protect them as well as we can, but do we always know the best possible way to do so? Do we really know what the consequences might be if the child plays with the seat belt, or if the seat is incorrectly fitted, or if a child who is still too young sits facing forwards?
On this website you can learn more about protecting your child or your unborn baby in the car. At HTS and BeSafe we do our utmost to save as many children’s lives as possible.
A great deal has been written about the safety of children in cars. We have summed up the most important points here. You will see for instance weight groups, a review of the advantages of the rearward-facing position, some case histories, expert-statements and plenty more to give you some good ideas about the best way to protect your child. At BeSafe we have been developing and testing children’s car seats for over twenty years with one overriding aim: to make child car seats as safe as possible. But there are lots of other factors that affect children’s safety when they travel in cars.
Safety is built up step-by-step using different elements. All these elements must be integrated as a whole. In a crash, the forces of the crash must on the one hand be reduced, and on the other hand deflected away from the body. The force should be deflected by the child’s car seat over to the main seat and the car bodywork. HTS takes a holistic view of the concept of safety in connection with children’s car seats. Depending on where the force of the collision comes from, the safety zones must be constructed and adapted using different methods. Side collisions make different demands on safety from frontal collisions or impact from behind. The protection required by the head and skull is different from the protection required by the inner organs of the body.
Quite apart from the considerations of safety, it is important that the child sits comfortably, can see out and has freedom of movement. Even though children are highly active and comfort is important, we believe that safety must always be given first priority.
HTS pays attention to all the details, both when it comes to advantages for the parents as users when they install the seat in their car, and place the child in the seat, and when we consider the needs of the child. We construct the seats and, not least, test them at least a hundred times to make sure that your child sits comfortably and safely in a hectic and possibly tense traffic environment. Among other things, we collaborate with the most widely known research centres in Europe.
At BeSafe we attach great importance to the instructions for use of our products. We have our own consumer test panel to ensure that the written instructions do not lead to incorrect use. They are designed so that you can install the seat step by step with self-explanatory illustrations. It is important to follow our instructions when you make the occasional adjustment and check to make sure the seat is correctly installed. Incorrect use is a frequent cause of injury to children in collisions.
